Marvin Gaye biopic in the works

Jesse L. Martin gives his fans some «Sexual Healing».

Biopics of singing legends are all the rage these days, with movies about Ray Charles, Johnny Cash and Duke Ellington already come and gone or under way. The next star to be mined for potential cinematic gold is Marvin Gaye, the 60's and 70's Motown veteran who was best known for hits such as «Let's Get It On», «Mercy Me» and «Sexual Healing». American actor Jesse L. Martin, who currently stars in «Law & Order», has been hired to play the soulful singer. The moviemakers should have no trouble finding a dramatic ending to their film: in 1984, Gaye was tragically shot and killed by his father during an argument.
