Rocky is not just quiet and shy: he is invisible. Ignored by his colleagues, with no social life, he is desperate to find his place in the world. One morning, Rocky discovers an owl in his living room. Confused by its appearance, Rocky suddenly decides to put on an owl costume every day. And while no one seems to notice him any more than usual, he does meet a woman in a panda suit on the street...

For his first solo achievement after having co-directed Seuls Two with his friend Eric Judor, Ramzy Bedia had a great idea: a sweet love story between two bitter and absurd people dressed as animals to hide their discomfort and serve their desperate need to exist. The risk inherent in such a premise is sadly illustrated by the result: a series of small ideas and sketches poorly assembled around a nonexistent plot. Despite the beautiful art direction and great care taken with this offbeat story, in the end Hibou is poorly thought out, with little emotion or humor, and ultimately unable to find its own identity.
