Depressed since the death of his brother, Pierrick is unable to move forward in his life. Tessa, his best friend who is secretly in love with him, invites him to go relax in the house of her father, which is located on a remote island. Pierrick reluctantly accepts. Once arrived, he discovers that the house is occupied by Marie, Tessa’s sister, who has come to recover from a breakup. After a drunken night, some fumblings in the dark and the surprise arrival of Tessa, the trio faces a few embarrassing situations ...

An oddity in French cinema. Even though her films go unnoticed or even unreleased in France, American director Lynn Shelton inspires: in the wake of Yvan Attal’s Do Not Disturb, a mediocre version of her Humpday, comes the remake of Your Sister's Sister, which starred Emily Blunt and Rosemarie Dewitt, this time directed by Marion Vernoux. This sentimental story about a love triangle is a priori banal, but Shelton turned it into a fine and tender comedic drama elevated by good performances. Vernoux manages this too, crafting a bittersweet melody centered on deeply endearing characters. Thanks to some very funny dialogue, the trio of actors is fantastic: Virginie Efira reconfirms her underrated status in film, Geraldine Nakache is less hysterical and more touching than usual, while the relatively unknown Gregory Ludig brings a remarkable energy to a great role.
