Since Sam has lost his comfortable job, his family is in the midst of a freefall. Two years and three moves later, they end up in a tiny studio in a chic building, where Marie tries desperately to make ends meet and motivate her husband to find a job. As a witness to a situation that is becoming increasingly problematic, their daughter Alex takes advantage of a dark opportunity to try to help her parents, unaware that she will take them all on a comical adventure...

Sandrine Kiberlain seems to have a soft spot for sensitive, trash comedy. After the pleasant surprise that was Elle l’adore, in which she helped her idol hide the body of his wife, the actress is back to cover up yet another corpse in this dark comedy. This is Benoît Graffin’s first movie for general audiences and he makes good use of the sweet madness found in the films of Pierre Salvadori, with whom he co-wrote the wonderful Après Vous Priceless and Beautiful Lies. Encore heureux is often amusing and sometimes very funny, with punchy dialogue undoubtedly supplied by co-writer Nicolas Bedos. This is an amazing and unexpected comedy that makes up for a certain lack of control with its richness and sincerity. And alongside Edouard Baer, who is clearly comfortable with his character, Kiberlain shines yet again.
