Released from prison after 18 years, a former hood tries to go straight.

New Mexico: imprisoned for having killed the sheriff’s deputy, William Garnett is freed after 18 years. With the help of his parole officer Emily Smith, he tries to live a simple and peaceful life. But although he finds a reason to become this new man when he meets Teresa, he’s confronted by his old associates who want him back in their gang, and by Sheriff Agati, who’s convinced he doesn’t deserve a second chance...

Two Men in Town is reminiscent of Zulu, the movie by Jérôme Salle starring Forest Whitaker as a cop tormented by vengeance. This time around, the Oscar-winning actor (The Last King of Scotland) plays an outlaw for another Frenchman, Rachid Bouchareb, offering this second story of violence a gripping strength. A remake of the French classic Deux hommes dans la ville, this film by the director of Indigènes is remarkably beautiful, taking advantage of the extraordinary setting. Whitaker’s co-star is the always amazing Brenda Blethyn* in a secondary role as the parole officer who tries to help save him.
