Recently dumped, a woman finds her way back to happiness thanks to self-help books.

When Julie (Alexandra Lamy) gets yet another Dear Jane letter by courier, she falls into a depression that she’s determined to get out of by consulting self-help books. The cute bookseller (Jean Paul Rouve) in her neighborhood, whom she never really pays attention to, supplies her with a plethora of reading material. Eventually, Julie gets back her smile. Now an advice junkie, she becomes a bit tiresome with her treasure trove of enlightenment and luckily her girlfriends are there to tell her so. However, they themselves have their own troubles with intrigue and deception...

There should be more self-help books about how to get through these kinds of “comedies” that for once actually deserve the label “chick flick”. Although the trio of characters is likeable, they aren’t good enough to make this movie anything other than a succession of dense gags dealing with the chaos of love in modern times.
