A family man finds meaning in his life thanks to adorably grouchy parents.

To get by, Maxime reluctantly manages his ambulance company by accepting compromises that go against his convictions. His relationship is falling apart; his children are growing up too fast for him. Maxime goes to spend a few days with his parents, an old couple who still love each other, despite his mother being a grouchy old codger. But she has a heart of gold: Maxime finds out she's taken in a boy whose undocumented mother is in danger of deportation. Faced with this family's drama and his parents' social empathy, Maxime learns to dust himself off and put his life back in order...

This feel-good movie deals with love, family, helping others and is therefore hard to find fault with. But the too-strong sentimental doses it serves up are can be nauseating. This good old, traditionally French comedy, led by Josiane Balasko and Gérard Jugnot as the good-hearted, grumpy old couple unfortunately has no surprises in store for the audience.
