Mohammed, the movie

A $150 million superproduction about the founder of Islam, the prophet Mohammed, is underway.

The American producer of «Face/Off», as well as «The Matrix» and «The Lord of the Rings» trilogies, Barrie Osborne, has taken on this ambitious project in collaboration with a powerful media group based in Qatar, Alnoor Holdings, to create an «international epic production aimed at bridging cultures» and to «educate people about the true meaning of Islam».

In accordance with Muslim rules, the prophet Mohammed himself will never appear onscreen in the movie, which is set to be released as early as 2011.
