The University of Cardiff in Wales has a new course of study: James Bond.

The course includes studying the works of author Ian Fleming, from a social and historical point of view.

Tutor Hywel Dix, who is offering the course on James Bond, says the works illustrate the various political contexts of the last 50 years. «It also highlights the representations of women and their role,» Dr. Dix explained.

The course will last 10 weeks, beginning in January 2008. About 15 students have already signed up.
