Heartthrob Richard Gere («Dr. T and The Woman») flees the clutches of women for the land of eternal ice. The Hollywood star has bagged the starring role in the drama «Emperor Zehnder», in which he plays the Swiss adventure photographer Bruno P. Zehnder, who became famous for his love of penguins.

Based on the article «Death Among the Emperors», which appeared in the magazine «Vanity Fair», the movie presents the life of photographer Bruno P. Zehnder, who became famous not only for his photographs, but also for his environmental work for Antarctica. This earned him the name «the Guardian of Antarctica», and his love for the creatures moved him to change his middle name to «Penguin». Zehnder died at the age of 52 in an Antarctic storm. In negotiations for director of the film is Stephen Frears, whose last post resulted in the well-attended «High Fidelity».
