The mobile phone company Orange wins the support of Wong Kar-Wai, Oliver Stone and Martin Scorsese for its latest advertising campaign. Their task is to create a spot of under sixty seconds.

Oliver Stone and Martin Scorsese go Orange

France Télécom, owner of the mobile phone company Orange, asked an advertising agency to oversee the production of five short films. So far, three well-known directors have been signed up for the advertising project: Oliver Stone will set his spot in the world of rugby, Wong Kar-Wais spot will be set in the future and Martin Scorsese, who stopped work on his latest film Gangs in New York with Leonardo Di Caprio to do the Orange-ad, shot a film about the life of a tormented young man. All films will end with the famous Beatles song Revolution.

The budget of the campaign remains confidential. There is no doubt, however, that the three directors will receive hefty sums on top of the means to cover production costs. After all, they are among the most famous and respected film directors world-wide.
