On his honeymoon in Cuba with Letty, Dom thinks he has found peace. But the mysterious Cipher, a cyber-terrorist sought by authorities around the world, traps him by revealing something that changes his life. With no choice but to betray his family, Dom turns against Letty, Hobbs, Roman, Tej and Ramsey to work with Cipher. The team reluctantly face off against their former friend, on the streets of New York and in the icy cold of Russia...

Fast & Furious 8 is not just a ridiculous movie: it's a ridiculous movie that is at ease with itself, within a saga that has taken ownership of its stupidity, resulting in an explosive product. The racing franchise is has been a thundering cartoon since the fifth installment, with its (bad) taste for excessive stunts and action scenes that defy logic. Fans will get what they want: unsurprisingly, there are insane bits of courage, an army of remote-controlled cars (revealing how much of the action is done, like playing with Matchbox toys), a chase on a frozen lake with a tank and torpedoes. It's raw, it's clichéd, it's noisy and it's superficial. It's also a little less likeable than Fast & Furious 7. But it's also funny, fun and sometimes great.
