The feeling is mutual, even though they are worlds apart. The merciless senator Corvus has followed Cassia from Rome with the intention of marrying her. Milo finds out that Corvus killed his family and plans revenge, as Vesuvius begins to rumble.
Movies by Paul Anderson guarantee mindless entertainment where bad taste has no limits. With its insufferable romance, featureless characters and idiotic dialogue, Pompeii reminds us that Anderson is responsible for drivel like Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator and The Three Musketeers, confirming he is no class act. His only option is to pile on the special effects and tight battle scenes, which in the end are the only things that make this overblown schlock flick in any way interesting.
