Director Shana Feste’s story of young love in the face of objection by others.

The tragic death of her brother sends Jade (Gabriella Wilde) and her wealthy family into a period of mourning that lasts years, during which there is no room for outsiders. Elliot (Alex Pettyfer), the hard-working son of mechanic, doesn’t have the courage to approach Jade during high school, but a chance meeting after graduation leads to a passionate affair and Jade seems to have found happiness again. If only her father Hugh (Bruce Greenwood) weren’t trying to break up their relationship.

This remake of Franco Zeffirelli’s 1981 trashy love story is devoid of any true emotions. Attractive young people are stylishly filmed, posing photogenically in front of the fire as if in an ad for the latest clothing line. Endless Love is a sterile portrayal of young love, full of clichés and without the emotional depth that real first love brings with it.
