Chile: a lively woman nearing 60 falls in love again – and finds herself confronted with her past.

58-year-old Gloria is single in Santiago de Chile. It's been ten years since her divorce, her daughter moves to Europe with her husband, and her son resists advice on how to raise her newborn grandchild. On the weekend, Gloria has fun at singles' parties, flirting shamelessly as she looks for a little sexual diversion. When she meets a widower who's seven years older, her life seems to have taken a new direction.

Gloria is the story of a 58-year-old woman who, despite menopause and divorce, is determined to enjoy her life to the fullest. The strength of the main character draws the audience in, or in the director's own words: "Gloria is a little like Rocky: the world seems to be against her. But even when she's completely down, she gets back up again and keeps going, head held high." Paulina García took home the Silver Bear for best actress at this year's Berlin Film Festival.
