To get by, Maxime reluctantly manages his ambulance company by accepting compromises that go against his convictions. His relationship is falling apart; his children are growing up too fast for him. Maxime goes to spend a few days with his parents, an old couple who still love each other, despite his mother being a grouchy old codger. But she has a heart of gold: Maxime finds out she's taken in a boy whose undocumented mother is in danger of deportation.
