Julius Caesar (Fabrice Luchini) wants to extend his empire to Britain, getting ready to deploy his formidable army to invade a people whom he regards with contempt. With a war imminent, the Britons quickly understand they won't last long under a barrage of catapults. Having heard of a small village in Gaul that resists its invaders thanks to a magic potion, the queen of Britain (Catherine Deneuve) decides to seek their help.
