A scientist takes home a baby chimp named Caesar from his lab as part of a research project designed to cure mankind of all degenerative diseases. When the primate, who has received a dose of this cure, begins to display superhuman intelligence, the authorities have him locked up in a cage with other apes. But once within this oppressive environment, Caesar becomes determined to free himself – he escapes, steals the cure and gives it to all the apes in confinement.
