A photojournalist is assigned to cover a Paris police department that protects minors. She accompanies them in their daily duties, in cramped offices dealing with abused children and their accused parents, meeting a series of adults who love their children badly, too much or not enough. The cops have their own foibles as they try to deal with difficult and often insufferable cases without letting it get to them.
