London, 1880: the ambitious young doctor Mortimer Granville (Hugh Dancy) finds a promising job in the noble offices of Dr. Dalrymple (Jonathan Pryce). As a specialist for gynecology, old Dalrymple primarily treats “hysterical” patients from the upper classes.
