A well-off journalist interviews two students who make money from prostitution.

A journalist (Juliette Binoche) working for a popular women's magazine takes on the issue of prostitution among young students. Shielded by her bourgeois life, her values are shattered by the thought that these young women are whoring themselves out just for the money. Alarmed when she finds out their clients are bored husbands and not shameful perverts, the journalist finds doubt insinuating itself into her own relationship with her husband, while the young women's stories awaken a sensuality in herself she thought was long gone...

The third film by Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska has the feel of a documentary, alternating jerky journalistic interviews with graphic scenes that soon turn into voyeurism. The pretentious tone of Juliette Binoche's character doesn't seem like it would inspire anyone to confide in her. Only the star-turn performances of the two young actresses Anaïs Demoustier and Joanna Kulig adds a breath of fresh air to this story that is too heavy mainly because it's full of entrenched clichés about free will.
