The Sorcerer's Apprentice
After searching the globe for centuries, a sorcerer finally finds the successor to Merlin the magician: a physics student living in New York.
On a field trip in New York with his classmates, Dave meets a sorcerer named Balthazar, who gives him a figure of a dragon that identifies him as the successor to Merlin the magician. 10 years later, Dave is now a physics student and is reluctantly recruited by Balthazar, who teaches him the tricks of the trade so that Dave will be able to rid the earth of evil forces...
The makers of the two National Treasure movies - Disney Studios, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jon Turteltaub, and Nicolas Cage - have made an entertaining modern version of Goethe's epic tale - and Disney's Fantasia - stealing a bit of Harry Potter along the way. Also starring Jay Baruchel, the anti-hero of the brilliant She's Out of My League, and Monica Bellucci.
