As they each arrive in Venice for the first time one evening in 1999, Silvestre and Camilla meet on a vaporetto. Pretending he has nowhere to sleep for the night, the boy invites himself to her place. Camilla is a history student specializing in Russian theater who lives in a small, unheated garret. Over the next 10 years, the two young people keep meeting one another between Moscow and Venice, as they move from dislike to friendship, indifference and, of course, love, but unfortunately without admitting it to one another...
