An Education
London, 1961. The exceptionally bright and talented 16-year-old Jenny is more than supported by her parents in her aim to go to Oxford, in fact her father tests her endlessly and frowns upon all attempts at having a good time. But when Jenny brings home a man she met in the neighborhood, her parents seem more interested in having her marry than get an education. As Jenny throws herself into her first real relationship, she comes to the realization that she must decide what she really wants: to live life to the fullest now, or prepare for an unknown, safer future? Coming-of-age drama written by Nick Hornby, with an excellent ensemble cast (Emma Thompson, Olivia Williams and Carey Mulligan) that generated much buzz at various 2009 film festivals.
