The Mother
A 60 year-old widow goes to stay with her children in London to ward off the potential loneliness of her provincial home. Her children aren't thrilled at the prospect of having mum at home, but are resigned to it - until they discover she's having an affair with her daughter's boyfriend. Roger Michel's "The Mother" is - in spite of the often overdrawn melodrama - a gripping story of late-life emancipation.
