Mitch (*Ryan Reynolds*) and Dave (*Jason Bateman*) are childhood friends who have moved on to completely different lives. Dave is a family man and stressed-out lawyer, Mitch is single with no responsibilities and dreams of a career as an actor. Each one thinks the other has it better, and after a wild night they wake up and realize they have switched bodies. As they try to find a way of returning to their own bodies, they are forced to deal with each other's lives.
