Adam (*Joseph Gordon-Levitt*) is just 27. He finds out he has a rare form of cancer with - as he gleans from the internet - has a 50% chance of remission. So he's forced to tell his loved ones about his fate: his girlfriend, his mother and his best friend (*Seth Rogen*). The reactions differ, from those who threaten to break down to those who will support him until the end. This gives Adam the opportunity for introspection and to clean house in his relationships during his treatment. He is helped along by Katherine (*Ana Kendrick*), whose doctoral thesis rests on the psychological side effects of cancer. Despite her lack of experience, she may be just what will save Adam...
