Evelyn Salt is one of the CIA's best agents, a master at her craft and respected by her peers. But then a Russian defector offers information on the upcoming assassination of the Russian president on American soil, naming Salt as the killer, and she's forced to run in hopes of clearing her name and saving her husband from danger. Only Salt's boss tries to keep the system from hunting her down, but even he may change his mind when the president is indeed shot at an official function.
