Peter Parker is an unseemly, industrious loser, until one day he gets bitten by a genetically modified spider. Within one day Parker develops superhuman powers: his glasses get tossed as his vision goes back to 20/20, muscles burst out from his body faster than you can say "steroids", sticky spider's thread shoots out from his wrists, and thanks to the miniature barbs on his finger tips he can climb up the sides of smooth buildings. At first he uses his new found powers to his own advantage, but when his uncle is killed, Parker joins the fight for justice. Just in time, too. The Green Goblin is in town, and Spidey's in for a fight.
