Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) lives with his ragingly irate uncle Vernon (Richard Griffiths), his hard-hearted aunt Petunia (Fiona Shaw) and his spoiled cousin Dudley. The unwanted orphan is only just tolerated by his relatives and is forced to sleep in a closet under the stairs. As his 11th birthday nears, things around him start to happen with amazing speed: Harry gets mail from a magic owl and finds out that he, like his dead parents before him, is a wizard, and is to be sent to Hogwarts to study to become a full fledged wizard. Harry’s world is turned upside down, but in this world of wizards and witches he finally finds what has been forbidden to him until now: security, family and an unbelievable adventure.
