Gracie (*Sandra Bullock*) is an undercover agent of the FBI. When it becomes apparent that the winner of the Miss United States pageant will be assassinated, Gracie has to mingle unnoticed among the competitors in order to foil the assassin. She takes on the job with great reluctance, however, as nothing repels her more than these dumm beauty parades. The organiser of the contest is none too impressed either with Gracie's efforts until Victor Melling (*Michael Caine*) manages to transform Gracie into a stunning beauty.
