The just 23 year-old French actor Ludivine Sagnier has so far been known for her supporting roles, holding her own as the wild child in Francois Ozon's comic mystery «8 femmes» against legendary greats Catherine Deneuve and Isabelle Huppert. Now Sagnier stars in two films at the Cannes Film Festival.

Ludivine Sagnier invades Cannes

Ludivine Sagnier is enjoying twice as much attention at Cannes, with two films in the competition, François Ozon's «Swimming Pool», opposite Charlotte Rampling, and Claude Miller's «La Petite Lili». When Sagnier heard the news, the pressure descended: «It felt like someone had dropped a large piano on my head. I wondered how I was going to deal with the pressure, but I calmed down after a while». Whether Ludivine Sagnier or one of her films will be awarded the Golden Palm in Cannes will be decided next Sunday.
