With three movies behind him – «Reservoir Dogs», «Pulp Fiction» and «Jackie Brown» – director Quentin Tarantino has turned into a cult figure for many fans. His fourth project, «Kill Bill», is avidly being awaited by audiences everywhere. But the bizarre idea for the blood-rich movie came not from the director, but from lead actor Uma Thurman – over cocktails.

«Kill Bill» was Uma's big idea

When Quentin Tarantino went out with Uma Thurman for cocktails during the filming of «Pulp Fiction», Thurman had a sudden idea for a murderous film character. And so the idea was born for the movie «Kill Bill», which is coming to Swiss theatres in mid-October. Tarantino excitedly spun out muse Thurman's idea even further: 'Yes! and the guy at the head of it all, his name is Bill! He's the bad guy and the movie's called 'Kill Bill'!« The project is thus far Tarantino's longest, coming in at a total of three hours. The flick has therefore been sliced in two and will be served in separate 90-min. portions.
