And the nominees are...

The Oscar nominations have been released. «The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button» takes the lead with 13 possible awards.

The battle of the leading men promises to be excitingly tough: brilliant albeit little-known Richard Jenkins for «The Visitor», Frank Langella for the fascinating «Frost/Nixon», returning Sean Penn for «Milk», Brad Pitt for «The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button» and coming back Mickey Rourke for «The Wrestler» will compete for Best Actor.

As for the leading ladies, Anne Hathaway for «Rachel Getting Married», Angelina Jolie for «The Changeling», Melissa Leo for «Frozen River», pluri-nominated Meryl Streep for «Doubt» and Kate Winslet for her controversial part in «The Reader» will vie for Best Actress.

Finally, Best Motion Picture of the Year will be awarded to one of the following five films: «The Curious Case of Benjamin Button», «Frost/Nixon», «Milk», «The Reader» or «Slumdog Millionaire».
