«Un petit jeu sans conséquence» for Ang Lee

Originally, Italian director Gabriele Muccino, maker of «L'ultimo bacio» and the current «The Pursuit of Happyness» with Will Smith, was scheduled to remake the French rom-com «Un petit jeu sans conséquence», starring Cameron Diaz and Jim Carrey. But these three were not satisfied with the screenplay, about a long-term couple who decide to make a game of a pretend separation and are subsequently shocked at how their entourage reacts to the news.

Together with his faithful screenwriter James Schamus, with whom he worked on «The Ice Storm», «Brokeback Mountain» and «Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon», Ang Lee has now been tapped to take over on the project. Prior to doing so, he will have to complete «Lust, Caution», a thriller about Shanghai in the Second World War.
