Pablo Escobar Jr. lends his support
The son of the infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar has contacted director Joe Carnahan to offer his support with a large number of family documents.
This gives Carnahan, the maker of «Narc», a certain advantage over another biopic project in the works about Pablo Escobar, which is being produced by Oliver Stone and directed by Antoine Fuqua, maker of the excellent «Training Day».
Having lived under an assumed named for years, Juan Pablo Escobar is planning to give the director access to documents such as letters, home movies and photos, and will provide anecdotes about his father, who was killed in a shootout with authorities in 1993.
Some of the anecdotes may be even more amazing than one that surfaced last week: a submarine capable of carrying up to 12 tons of cocaine was seized off the Pacific coast. The sub's sailors were covered in white powder at the time of their capture.
