American jazz vocalist Norah Jones will make her acting debut in an English language movie by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai as reported by Monday's local press.

The pianist and winner of the 2005 Best Single Grammy (tied with Ray Charles) and daughter of sitar legend Ravi Shankar will act in Wong Kar Wai's next English language movie project, about which there are as yet has no further details. This won't be a problem for Wong: in accordance with the director's usual way of working, the actors always work without a script. Local papers also report that the film Wong was last announced to be making, a remake of «The Lady from Shanghai» that was supposed to come out last year starring Nicole Kidman, has been pushed back to 2007 as the director searches for the perfect male lead.
