Jesus Christ flops

With 240'000 dollars in 1000 theaters, which makes an average income of 240 dollars per cinema, the American re-release of Mel Gibson's «The Passion of the Christ» is a flop. The actor's intention was to release theatrically for the second time, and before Easter, a new shortened and softer version in which the most violent scenes are cleared off in order to attract larger numbers of viewers. The missing violent sequences might be the reason why the North American and European audiences have shown no interest in this «light» version of «The Passion of the Christ,» which cannot be seen as a good signal coming from Christian audiences.
