After robbing a bank in New York, Connie and his brother Nick think they have gotten away with it. But the heist goes wrong and soon the police is on their trail. While Connie escapes, Nick is arrested. Determined to help him, Connie embarks on a long night spent in the depths of New York to break him out of Riker’s Island.

If evidence were needed that Robert Pattinson has definitely become one of the most interesting young actors right now, it would be Good Time. Valued by David Cronenberg, who cast him in Cosmopolis and Maps to the Stars, and recently starring in The Lost City of Z by James Gray, the actor also has his finger on the pulse of pure independent American cinema for this adventure directed by two brothers, Josh and Benn Safdie, who also made The Pleasure of Being Robbed. Their latest movie is a tense, intense, fringe thriller where colors, camera movement and music blend for an adrenaline rush. This is what makes a movie that could otherwise have been bland, given its basic screenplay and characters. Good Time will undoubtedly leave some wary or even exasperated, but others will experience an explosive piece of entertainment.
