Casablanca, 1942. Parachuting into Morocco, American Max Vatan meets Frenchwoman Marianne Beauséjour. While they do not know each other, the mission of the two spies is to pose as a couple, get invited to an evening organized by the German Embassy, and assassinate the Nazi ambassador. A dangerous operation, during which they fall in love despite the risks...

Robert Zemeckis is one of those great Hollywood filmmakers who is able to put together truly fabulous showcases like Romancing the Stone, Back to the Future and Forrest Gump. With intensely romantic moments (a sex scene in the middle of a sandstorm, childbirth during a bombing raid), Allies reconnects with the tradition of showmanship, romance and thriller, with Hitchcockian accents. After being recently snubbed by audiences for "The Walk", Zemeckis is sure to get his audience back with this majestic blockbuster carried by two major stars (Marion Cotillard, who is excellent, and Brad Pitt, a little less so), which should remind everyone that he has a spectacular sense of staging.
