Back at work after a depression, a woman needs her coworkers’ votes to keep her job.

Back on her feet after a depression, Sandra, mother of two, gets ready to go back to work at a solar panel factory. Then she finds out her boss has given her co-workers an ultimatum: vote in favor of their bonus, or lose it and get Sandra her job back. In one weekend, helped by her husband, she goes to each co-workers and tries to get their vote...

With two Golden Palms and a raft of other awards, the Dardenne brothers belong to the kings of the Cannes Film Festival and are regularly praised by the press. The presence of an actress with the caliber of Marion Cotillard doesn’t hurt either and gives Deux jours, une nuit the inevitable aspect of a very serious event. But all this is forgotten within the first few minutes of this unsparing film, which is a mix of family drama and social thriller and once again confirms the strength of these filmmakers. Carried by delicate, subtle but brutal emotion, this film is a magnificent human oeuvre, played by an actress with raw sensitivity.
