Just out of prison, an old hoodlum gets picked up by his old pal, who’s been assigned to kill him.

After doing 28 years in prison, Val (Al Pacino) is set free. Visibly moved, his old pal Doc is waiting for him at the gate. After all these years apart, the two decide to spend the evening together, going to a brothel, getting thrown out of a bar, trying to get little blue pills at the drug store to meet the expectations of hookers 30 years younger than them. But their reunion has a dark side: Doc has been hired by a gangster to kill Val by the next morning at 10. Realizing these few hours may be their last, Val and Doc decide to break another old friend out of a retirement home and go on a spree to relive their youth...

A funky soundtrack and a seventies ambiance try to bolster this talky and unfunny comedy, in which the main characters chatter endlessly about the good old days. While Christopher Walken’s performance is as classy and expert as ever, Al Pacino hams it up. As usual. Costarring in a small role is Lauriane Gilliéron, ex Miss Switzerland from Lausanne (Prilly).
