Biopic of Austrian kidnap victim Natascha Kampusch, starring Antonia Campbell-Hughes.

On March 2, 1998, 10-year-old Natascha Kampusch was kidnapped by Wolfgang Priklopil and shut into the cellar underneath his house. There the unemployed small-town man held the girl like a slave. He beat her, verbally abused her, withheld food from her. But Natascha would not let herself be broken; she increasingly celebrated small triumphs until one day she took advantage of a chance to escape her captor.

3096 Tage is a depressing movie whose quality and authenticity cannot be denied. If anything, one could question its existence. Although the movie was authorized by Kampusch, this does not stop the viewer from becoming a voyeur, given the chance to replace their own impressions from press reports with the "real" images from the movie. In any case, no film can reproduce the horror of such an experience.
