Actors meet in a screening room to reenact a play.

Apprised of the death of theater director Antoine d'Anthac (Denis Podalydès), a group of actors – all of whom played Eurydice under d’Anthac’s direction – are summoned to his home by his former majordomo. Once there, they are led to a room containing a movie screen and comfortable armchairs. Their mission: to decide whether the film version of the play done by a young theater troupe is worth restaging. Considering they all know the play by heart, the actors begin to take over the roles they see onscreen, as the play comes to life in several forms in this improvised screening room...

Led by a group of talented actors (Hippolyte Girardot, Pierre Arditi, Sabine Azema, Lambert Wilson, Mathieu Amalric*, all playing themselves), this play within a play is despite everything somewhat boring. It will probably only thrill theater buffs who are interested in watching actors ply their craft in a series of playlets filmed in such extreme close-ups that the screen is often fuzzy. The urge to dust off the frame arises often.
