A teen's first love coincides with quarrels with her mother. Starring Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore.

16-year-old Lola, nicknamed “Lol” (Miley Cyrus), falls in love with Kyle after dumping Chad, who cheated on her with another girl. To keep up with Kyle, who she thinks is more experienced than she, Lol decides to lose her virginity. Her best friend Emily is obsessed with the same thing, only the object of her fantasies is their math teacher. Lol writes about all her everyday problems, hopes and heartbreaks in her private journal. Until the day her mother (Demi Moore) finds it in Lol's messy room as she's looking for a sweater...

To show what has changed in the daily lives of teenagers in the years since La boum (The Party, 1980), French director and writer Lisa Azuelos first made a movie with Sophie Marceau in 2008 before this US remake. Apart from a culture shock experienced by Lol and her friends during a trip to Paris, where the French are nothing but snail and brain eaters, the principal interest of teens, be they Americans or Parisians, seems to be identical: email, SMS, social networks. As for the rest, nothing has changed since the 1980's, and in the absence of recognizing one's own child or being able to imagine what lies in wait for them, everyone will be reminded of their own childhood.
