Ada (Valentina Cervi) is an illustrator for a publishing house, living happily with her future husband and her daughter. She meets Paul (Louis-Do de Lencquesaing), a writer edited by the same publisher, who lives with his daughter. Then his father dies and subsequently his mother (Marthe Keller) goes crazy. At a cocktail reception Paul literally falls at Ada’s feet, and his feelings become entwined between mourning for his father, being happy as he spends time laughing with his brother despite their family situation, the love he feels for Ada, and his own role as father, lover and son. Paul writes the novel of his life as it all overflows onto the page...
