A week in the Cuban capital in seven separate segments, each filmed by a different director.

A week in the Cuban capital, through streets of crumbling townhouses, hotel lobbies reminiscent of luxurious colonial times, along wave-smashed beaches, up grand staircases in interior courtyards criss-crossed by washing lines, and down tortuous steps to basement bars. 7 otherwise separate chapters in which some of the characters cross paths: a singer who dreams of leaving to find success, a director (Emir Kusturica) invited to receive a lifetime achievement award, an overqualified taxi driver and a tyrannical grandmother who sees the Virgin in her dreams. These portraits come together in one large picture of a city ruined by history.

An espresso and croissant on the banks of the Seine, a Vespa ride past Italian baroque monuments, tapas and flamenco in Madrid... there are so many clichés for every destination that it's easy to think you've already been there even if you haven't. And this is how Havana is presented by Benicio del Toro, Pablo Trapero, Julio Medem, Elia Suleiman, Gaspar Noé, Juan Carlos Tabío and Laurent Cantet, who leave no trite observation unuttered during their collective guided tour of the Cuban capital.
