When extraterrestrials come to pillage Earth for its power, five young people fight back.

Two young entrepreneurs travel to Moscow to present their internet start-up to a prospective investor. They get taken advantage of, but that's the least of their worries: invisible extraterrestrials attack Moscow, not only shutting down all electronics - one touch by them and people turn to dust. After a few days, Moscow is empty of people, but five survivors won't give up. They find a way that might let them escape the city, but the way out throws obstacles in their path.

Like last year's Skyline, The Darkest Hour has too many problems to work. The characters are stereotypical shells, the plot is silly and the dialog is so overly emotional that it is often involuntarily funny.
