Leaving a rehab center, a young man goes to Oslo for a job interview.

Anders, a patient in a rehab center, hasn't been to Oslo in months. On the last day of summer he goes there for an interview, to see old friends and confront his demons. The story follows this 30-something young man tormented by alcohol as he moves tragically between his haunting past, his shattered dreams and the reality of people he used to hang with, who didn't end up with their future ruined by drugs...

Slow, luminous, intense with excessive pathos, this film by Joachim Trier is an ode to the meanderings of a complex society where the missteps of a disabused generation collides with an all-powerful social conformity. In a fresh and beautiful city inhabited by young, attractive and connected people, Anders is subjected to an ambient claustrophobia underlined by the insurmountable prison of addiction. The portrait of a generation that comes close enough to that of Switzerland's youth.
