In England, a boy whose mother is a junkie loses his twin brother in a tragic accident. In France, a famous journalist is still under shock from surviving a tsunami in Asia. In the States, a former medium who wants nothing more to do with his gift loses his job as a factory worker. For different reasons, each of these people lives in close contact with death and with the hereafter, a place inaccessible to the living. But finally it's life and the needs of others in this world that brings these three people together.

Clint Eastwood makes another simple, classic melodrama, daring to treat seriously and sincerely a subject that is normally approached as pure fiction. His film works well, with intimate and earnest scenes touched by the emotion they set free.
